Congratulations on completing the “Which type of hider are you?” quiz!
Curious about the other types? Or perhaps you embody elements of more than one? This is totally normal and can be an exciting opportunity to explore what resonates with you.
Take a moment to read through the descriptions of each type…
Type 1: The Self-Aware Hider
You know you're hiding.
You want to grow your business, but you're NOT taking up space or sharing your gifts with the world. And you’re painfully aware of it.
Maybe you’re waiting for clarity about what the heck your "thing" is. Maybe you're waiting until you get one more certification. Maybe you’re afraid of being judged by your former colleagues.
A part of you kinda knows that these are just excuses, and yet... it's hard to shake off the fears.
But here’s the good news. You’re not alone, and you're actually in the best position to make progress. Because you have self-awareness! You know you're hiding, and you know that this hiding doesn't honor the gifts inside of you, nor does it serve the people that those gifts are meant to touch.
And that means the fix is simple: show the scared part of you that nobody is going to die when you take imperfect action.
⭐ Solution: Take a deep breath, and do it messy, do it imperfect, but do it NOW. And teach your nervous system: we are safe, we are safe, we are safe...
You don’t need more time. You don’t need more clarity. The truth is, clarity is created by when you take messy action. Confidence is built through showing up imperfect, making mistakes, and learning from them.
What you're waiting for is on the other side of you going out there and doing the thing, today, now.
Type 2: The Classy Hider
You think you’re showing up. You post. You market. Consistently, even!
But you do it in a way that feels... demure. Classy. You take pains to avoid being annoying, spammy, or “too much.” You don't want to be one of those people, right?
The problem? If your marketing feels “just right” to you, it’s probably invisible to your audience.
Think of it like stage makeup. What looks good up close gets totally washed out under the lights. And what might look like over-the-top, garish "clown makeup" up close... makes your features juuuust about visible from the audience seats.
If you want to be seen, you need to go 10x bigger, bolder, and louder than what feels comfortable. And when you do, you'll be surprised to find that that's just about when people begin to connect the dots!
But the good news is that this is something that gets easier. This is muscle you can develop, and with repeated reps, you get so much stronger. I promise you the work is worth it.
⭐ Solution: Make offers 10x more than you think is necessary. If you’re not making yourself a little nauseous, you’re not doing it enough.
Repeat yourself. Say it a little differently. Get creative and playful.
Just when you think they've heard enough, say it again. And again. And again.
When I say "10x more than you think is necessary," I mean it.
And be assured: if you are being thoughtful and creative about how you say it each time (as opposed to just wallpapering the internet with copy-pasted content), you're not "adding to the noise". You're not annoying anyone. You are helping to build connections that create more possibility in the world.
Type 3: The One-Dimensional Hider
You show up. You post. You engage. But you only show the version of you that feels safe — the version you know “works.” You rarely rock the boat. And why should you? Your business is working just fine. Right?
But something feels staid. And there's a deeper part of you that is itching for more...
Look, you're hiding your multidimensionality from people! And what a pity, because your multidimensionality is where your gold is.
In my experience, this isn’t just a newbie error. Even seasoned entrepreneurs do this! They hide their weirdnesses, their controversial takes, their complexity, their real thoughts about the deeper, stranger nuances of their work... for fear that it's too much," “not relevant”, or people won't "get it," or they'll turn people off.
And my friend, this self-censoring might just be what's keeping you from breaking through to the next level of your creativity, magnetism, and impact.
⭐ Solution: Dare to be multidimensional. Out loud. Without apology.
People buy from "safe" brands, sure. But they get obsessed with, talk their friends' ears off about, and line up at the ass crack of dawn for real, complex, paradoxical, multidimensional ICONS.
The therapist who is an activist. The Muslim who pole dances. The business coach who talks about making money but criticizes capitalism. These are some examples.
What multidimensionality are YOU ready to lean into?
Type 4: The Sales-Shy Hider
You already show up confidently. You have no problem expressing your thoughts. You can even tackle controversial topics gracefully from time to time... no problemo.
But the second you have to tell people to buy, it's like.. UGH CITY.
You really believe in what you're doing. You know it changes lives. But having to tell people "GIVE ME MONEY" makes you die inside.
I know you're wishing for a world where you could just focus on doing the work you love, and sales just magically happen... but I'm sorry to break it to you. That world does not exist. The truth is, even people who love you and want to buy from you need to be told to what to do — clearly, directly, repeatedly.
But here's the good news. If you can't avoid selling, you might as well learn how to enjoy it. And as someone who was formerly in the "SALES = VOMIT" camp herself, I promise you CAN learn to enjoy it.
My challenge will take you closer to being able to sell with the passion, skill, and integrity that you bring to everything else in your work. So, no more holding back. Your people want to give you money — we're gonna make it easier for them, okay?
⭐ Solution: Train your brain to get comfortable saying, “Hey, buy this,” by deeply owning the value of your thing and focusing on being of service of those whom it could genuinely help.
No more fear of being “too much.” We’re rewiring your brain to see sales as the connective, life-affirming act that it COULD be.
